FAQ

What are the environmental gains of buying TH!NK city?

Think global- act local

A key advantage of the TH!NK city lies in its effective utilization of energy. A traditional car with a combustion engine uses less than 30% of the energy from the fuel it burns. The rest of the energy is lost in friction and heat. Up to 90% of the battery's energy is used to in the TH!NK city. This means that the energy efficiency is three times as high in the TH!NK city. You can drive three times as far with the same amount of energy!

Locally- TH!NK city has no local emissions, either in the form of CO2, NOx (Nitrogen Oxides) or particles.

Globally- Hydroelectric power is where most Norwegian energy is generated but even if one’s energy is produced by coal or oil production, the energy efficiency of this car makes it more environmentally friendly.

TH!NK city is 95% recyclable. Pure and recyclable materials are produced in a non-polluting fashion and 16% of these materials are themselves made of recyclable materials.

Where can I buy a TH!NK?

Pricing will depend on individual market conditions. The price can not be translated as the pricing process for the different markets are not completed. However, we estimate that the car will be sold at around EUR 20,000 in Europe. In addition, Think offers the Mobility pack at EUR 200 per month, covering full service battery use, car insurance and electricity use. TH!NK city customers will experience low operating costs of ownership.

* + monthly battery lease at NOK 975,- exlusive vat

Why Mobility pack?

1) The battery is still quite expensive

2) 0 risk for customer. Think is responsible for the battery to function optimally, and Think will deliver a new battery when needed without any additional costs.

Do I need a special electric socket?

Standard electric socket, 10A or 16A. Based on EU directions EN61851.

How long does the charging process take?

Battery charging can happen overnight. It takes about 10 hours to charge the battery if it is flat. This depends on which electric socket (10A or 16A) is used.

How much electricity does the car need?

The battery has a capacity of 28KWh and it takes about 30 KW to charge the battery if it is ‘dead’. The grid power is 3200 W if one uses a 16 A, and it takes 10 hours to charge the battery.

Can the battery overcharge?

The car charger can be connected to the electric socket even if the car is fully charged. There is no danger of the battery overheating or to be “overcharged”. We recommend that the car is plugged in when not in use. This way, the car is always fully charged.

Does the battery require maintenance charging?

The battery does not require maintenance charging like the last generation of Think did after 3000 km to 6000 km.

What guaranties does TH!NK city have?

TH!NK city has a three year factory guarantee. The law also states that the consumer has the right to file a formal complaint 5 years after the initial purchase.

Service needs?

The car will have 18 month service intervals. It is primarily the driveline which will need maintenance (front end, shock absorbers, breaks and rear suspension). There is a significantly less amount of parts which need maintenance since there is no exhaust pipe, oil and brushes in the motor or other motor mechanical components which need servicing. This will lead to a cheaper service bill.

Is the car expensive to insure?

Quite the contrary! Insurance companies use statistical data to predict the risk of driving cars, which gives you a good insurance deal. Electric car drivers tend to drive more defensively which is reflected in the insurance cost. The biggest advantage lies in the plastic panels. Most damage payments are a result of parking-house damages which encompasses flattening out dents and stopping rust opportunities from developing and repainting the panel which has sustained damage. TH!NK city can sustain a minor collision. If scratching occurs, the panel’s colour body will have the same colour and texture since the colour is not painted on but through the plastic. One can also treat the area by heating to make the scratch even less visible. If the plastic panel breaks, the panel can easily be replaced.

In Norway insurance costs will be approx. NOK 2.500,- for a full insurance in comparison to NOK 6.000,- for a small traditional car.
